Bamboo Forest is a location as seen in The Tale of the Princess Kaguya.
The forest is located near the Village in the Woods. Sanuki no Miyatsuko works here everyday to cut bamboos. He makes a lot of different things out of it. The cottage of his family is at the bottom of a mountain. There is a forest border to the bamboo forest.
The Glowing[]
Someday he found a glowing bamboo on his way back to his home. He approaches to it, because he couldn't suppress his curiosity towards it. In his lifetime he finds glowing bamboos two more times:
- He discovers a miniature girl inside a glowing bamboo shoot.
- He comes upon gold and fine cloth in the bamboo grove in the same way he found his daughter. He takes these as proof of her divine royalty and begins planning to make her a proper princess.
