Bellini was a character in the film Porco Rosso.

History

Bellini was a childhood friend of Marco Pagot, and was part of Gina's "Flying Club" in his youth. He became a pilot for the Italian Air Force following the outbreak of the First World War. Soon after, he married Gina. Tragedy struck after he was killed in a deadly aerial battle between Austria-Hungarian forces.

Porco Rosso later sees him and his Caproni C-22J lift up into the great sky in a vision. A photo of him, Marco and Gina could be seen on display at Adriano.

Name

Bellini is named after a real pilot who died during a shakedown flight, in pursuit of an aerial record.
