Blob Men

Blob Men are the Witch of the Waste's and Madame Suliman's henchmen in the film, Howl's Moving Castle. They are artificial beings created by magic.

Background[]

They were created by the Witch of the Waste to do her bidding. Blob Men can only be seen by witches and humans who wield magical powers. However, if there are magical barriers (such as the protections made by Madame Suliman on the front gates of the palace) that prevent vehicles from passing through, they dissolve through the ground, leaving any clothes they are wearing.

Madame Suliman's blob man are sent to capture Howl and Sophie and are seen trying to break into the hat shop.

Appearance[]

Blob men are black and they can change their look. Most of the time they have human appearance with arms, legs and clothing. Still they look strange by dot eyes, big nose, missing fingers and missing toes.

They can change their shape to fit in small objects and gaps. However they have no advantage doing so, because they can walk through walls.

Madam Suliman's blob men are dressed in green Ingary soldier uniforms and have sharp teeth.

Storage[]

The Witch keeps her blob men in a tiny teapot. She gives commands by knocking her cane on the ground. The blob men scout the area for her and carry her palanquin.
