A Dorok Air Monitor [1] is a type of large military airship that uses over 12 engines to fly and maneuver. The structure is made of wood [2].
The first Dorok Air Monitor that Nausicaä encounters is filled with civilians, like a refugee ship [3]. Several Monitors attack the Valley Gunship when Mito comes searching for Nausicaä [4].
Every monitor seems to have its own design, which may come from the different cultures of the tribes that make up the Dorok Principalities. The monitor charuka commands is an example of this, as it was fitted with a watchtower that was unseen on other ships.
