Howl's Cottage

Howl's Cottage is Howl's old hideaway while he was an apprentice wizard in the film, Howl's Moving Castle.

Background[]

The cottage is simply and sparsely decorated, with Howl's desk at the center. The desk contains Howl's old books, a mug, a candle, writing material, letters and an old leaf. Outside the cottage is a waterwheel and the marshlands.

History[]

Howl first introduces Sophie to his secret garden where she sees his old cottage. As Howl descends into darkness, Sophie and Heen follow her ring's light and steps through the door portal into the cottage of Howl's childhood.
