Lightning of Laputa
The Lightning of Laputa (ラピュタの雷, Rapyuta no Ikadzuchi) is a weapon of mass-destruction breifly featured in Castle in the Sky.
About[]
With the mystic crystals, ones with royal blood can perform several tecnologies of Laputa. One of these is the Lightning of Laputa. When the user activates it, several spikes can be extended out of the dome, which consists bottom parts of Laputa, then the spikes discharges plasma or electricity-like energy in a circle and converge it into an massive energy ball, and fires it downward.
The cannon is extremely destructive to cause a massive explosion and leaves a mushroom cloud behind.
History[]
Based on Muska's testimony, it is implied that the empire had used this cannon on several occasions against civilizations on the earth.
It was refereed as Indra's arrow (インドラの矢, Indora no Ya) in Ramayana, and Heavenly Fire (天の火, Ten no Hi) in Old Testament which was said to have destroyed cities of Sodom and Gommorah.

- Ramayana is an Indian national epic. Indra is a Hindu deity, specifically that of fire and thunder, an apt reference.[8th]
- It is one of the most destructive weaponries seen in Ghibli works along with God Warrior's proton beam.
