- The name Miyoko is written in kanji/hiragana (みよ子), which has no special meaning except the kanji "子" means "child". However, when part of the name Miyo is written in kanji (美代, 美世, 実代, 未代, 三代, 美与, 美與 or 三四), it could possibly mean:
- 美代 - "beautiful" (美) (mi) and "generation" (代) (yo).
- 美世 - "beautiful" (美) (mi) and "world" (世) (yo).
- 実代 - "fruit, good result, truth" (実) (mi) and "generation" (代) (yo).
- 未代 - "un-, not yet, hitherto, still, even now, sign of the ram, 1-3PM, eighth sign of Chinese zodiac" (未) (mi) and "generation" (代) (yo).
- 三代 - "three" (三) (mi) and "generation" (代) (yo).
- 美与/美與 - "beautiful" (美) (mi) and "bestow, participate in, give/giving, award, impart, provide, cause, gift, godsend" (与/與) (yo).
- 三四 - ""thirty-four.
