Shinsuke Nonaka (野中 晋輔 , Nonaka Shinsuke) is the production affairs manager at Studio Ghibli. He's worked at the company for over three decades, and starred as himself in Ghiblies, Ghiblies Episode 2. He also appeared as a narrator on the Nippon Television documentary Ghibli Was Born This Way: A Birth Story Spelled Out With Reproduced Images, which aired in July 1998. He also serves as a councilor of the Tokuma Memorial Cultural Foundation for Animation.
During the 30th anniversary of Castle in the Sky and to commemorate Nippon Television's programming block Friday road SHOW! airing Kiki's Delivery Service, Shinsuke guest starred on Toshio Suzuki's podcast to discuss the history of these film's productions.[1]
History
Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1960. After graduating from the Faculty of Sociology at Hitotsubashi University, he joined Studio Ghibli in 1994 after working for an audio manufacturer. Since then, he has been engaged in public relations and related businesses, mainly in the legal affairs and copyright, and is currently the director of the production operations department. He also serves as a councilor of the Tokuma Memorial Cultural Foundation for Animation.
