The Vai Emperor is the king of Torumekia and Kushana's father.
He conspires with the Three Princes to force Kushana to rebel when ordered to invade Dorok during the Periphery Campaign.[1]
He plays an important role in the end of the manga, protecting Nausicaa from the crypt's light [2] before dying,[3] after giving Kushana advice not to kill any of the royal court since "kill a single one and you will end up as I did, killing and killing again".[4]
