Toki (トキ), often referred as Otoki (おトキ), is the wife of Kohroku who appears in Princess Mononoke. She is a former brothel girl and works the bellows in Irontown with the rest of the women and generally acts as the de facto leader of the female workers.

Appearance

Toki wears a red kimono with a brown little belt and white headscarf.

Story

Toki is first seen when she meets Ashitaka after he finds her husband, Kohroku, and brings him back to Irontown. She is much more extroverted than Eboshi, flirting openly with Ashitaka during their first meeting while simultaneously berating her husband over his disappearance and dressing down Gonza when he tries to threaten the Emishi Prince.

Calm and focused during the face of a crisis, Toki isn't afraid to talk back and stand up for herself and others, even to someone like Gonza (who she clearly doesn't have the highest opinion of), despite the latter technically being the right-hand man to Lady Eboshi. Toki also has strong leadership skills, generally acting as the de facto leader of the brothel girls in Iron Town, and then acting as the general leader of Iron Town during the absence of Gonza and Lady Eboshi.

Despite constantly mocking her husband, Kohroku, and acting rather flirtatiously towards Ashitaka, it's made clear at various points in the movie that Toki truly does love and care about Kohroku.
