Wing-worms are large flying insects [1]. They have five eyes, a large mouth with mandibles, and a large, bulbous body with four front legs and four wings.
Wing-worms attacked the Pejitei Brig along with several Royal Yanmas, eventually contributing to its crash.
In Japanese this is "Ushiabu", the name of a large biting cow-fly
